CARE & FAIR | Against Child Labour in Rug Trade

CARE & FAIR is an industry initiative of the European rug trade and thus the forum of a committed and responsible part of the industry. CARE & FAIR - Carpet Trade Against Child Labour was founded in September 1994 by socially committed rug dealers and has since been providing industry-related self-help to combat illegal child labour and improve the situation of weavers and their families in the rug-producing regions of India and Pakistan.

CARE & FAIR currently has around 320 members in 18 consumer countries and 2 producer countries. We aim to: Abolish illegal child labour in India and Pakistan. Create better living conditions for rug weaver families. Socially responsible production. Our members only accept goods that are produced under socially responsible conditions. Take social responsibility and set an example that benefits everyone. CARE & FAIR currently supports 9 schools, 6 adult education centres, and 3 day clinics in India and Pakistan.
